SING A NEW SONG!

Happy New Year!

I gave up on New Year's Resolutions a long time ago...why? Probably because by the time I would turn the calendar to February, those great intentions would already be forgotten or worse tried and failed...in one short month! This year the Lord gave me a new perspective on dealing with the new year...singing a new song to Him! A song of praise and a song of thanksgiving filled with joy because of all the rich blessings He has given me. The great part of this new "resolution" is that I can't fail or forget! Daily I am reminded of how much God loves me and so how can I help but sing?

So, join me and sing...the Bible says to make a joyful noise, so it doesn't matter how it sounds. Just sing!

Knitting Addiction

OK...one more thing about my sister.

She did this to me.

She introduced me to knitting...and
now I am addicted.

I admit it! At first it was really hard for me, unknitting more than I knitted. But now, I find myself obsessed with knitting...I am always trying to find some time when I can sneak off to knit and purl a few rows...or making excuses to go downtown so that I can go to my favorite yarn shop. To top it all off, I have just found out that I am not the only one that suffers from this wonderful addiction...I ran into a friend in the yarn department of Michael's the other day and she came right out and admitted that she is addicted to knitting!

I didn' t think I was the type to succumb to such a addiction but I have. And I am loving every minute of it! In fact, earlier in the year I was so inspired by
Holli Conger's goal to make all her gifts that I have adopted that same goal! In fact, my latest felted purse project is a gift I am giving to a friend!

These are my first official projects! It is a felted purse...OK I admit that I tackled a felted project because I was told that you could not mess it up!

Lovin Summer

Happy August! I hope that you all are enjoying summer as much as I am! I love the slower pace of our lives in the summer. And I especially love the precious time I get to spend with my children. As they get older it seems that the moments that we have together are rare, making them ever so precious. I love summer!

This drawing was inspired by my sister Leiann...we talked on the phone after she and her family got back from a 2 week vacation at a cabin on Lake Billy Chinook in Oregon. She was absolutely bubbling, in fact if I could have seen her I bet she would have looked just like my little Katy kid in the illustration! I hope this inspires all of you to take time to love some summer, and if you are like me and have been thoroughly loving your summer...keep it up! As for me, I plan on lovin summer until that first day of school rolls around again and my toes get a bit too cold for flip flops!

Hi there...let me introduce myself!

Wow! I can hardly believe it...I have finally entered the world of blogging. I have so enjoyed all the artist blogs that I have visited regularly, such inspiration! For me, however, this is something like teaching an old dog a new trick! But, here I am! Yahoo!

My name is Kathleen Wilson, and first and foremost I am a wife and a mother. This is a pic of my precious family, who are great for support as well as critiques! I love them dearly. I also consider myself an artist...as a child I loved anything creative (still do), especially coloring! So much of what I illustrate are subjects of faith, seen through the eyes of a child. That is why I do my art as Katy Ka Diddle Hopper , my fathers childhood nickname for me! I hope you will visit my blog regularly and let me know how you think I am doing at this new blogging trick!
